Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board has approved the Muzaffarabad-Mansehra Link Road Project Concept-1 (PC-1) at a cost of PKR 44.72 billion, news sources reported on April 17. The project will be approved in its entirety by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

Reportedly, NHA Chairman Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Khurram Agha presided over the board meeting and approved the 26.6-kilometre-long project that will be developed under the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC). In addition to this, the board also approved various other development road infrastructure projects that include:
- PKR 61.162 billion PC-1 of the 81-kilometre-long Shounter (Kel) to Rattu (Gorikot) Road
- PKR 28.396 billion PC-1 of the 69.7-kilometre-long Sui – Kashmore Highway
- PKR 506 million consultancy agreement for construction supervision and design review of Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar; Section of M-8 Project and Section-2 (168 kilometre-long) from Awaran to Naal to “M/s Zeeruk International (Pvt.) Ltd. in JV with M/s Associated Consulting Engineers-ACE Ltd., M/s Prime Engineering & Testing Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. and M/s Effective Engineering Expertise (Pvt.) Ltd.”
- The board permitted M/s RMC-CLIC JV to extend the construction schedule for the Peshawar Northern Bypass (Package-II) to October 2022 at a cost increase of PKR 526.5 million.
