Karachi: Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday (August 14) announced prompt repair work of the Jam Sadiq Bridge and Korangi Flyover project, news sources reported. He announced that the work on the project will start soon, with the completion expected in November 2023.

According to Wahab, the provincial government has allocated PKR 5.5 billion for the Korangi River flyover for industrial areas, which would help reduce traffic congestion. Likewise, the Jam Sadiq Bridge will be completed this year. Furthermore, he stated that the provincial administration has set aside PKR 2.5 billion to rebuild roads across the city damaged by the ongoing monsoon rains.
Moreover, the Sindh government has approved several initiatives to improve the city, including constructing 14,000 roads in the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI). He stated that all schemes aim to increase the city’s trade potential while prioritising growth.

Recently, Wahab inaugurated a road infrastructure project from the Central District to the East District. The project is said to be 5.5-kilometre-long and will be completed with a budget of PKR 450 million.
