The signal free road will help decrease the travelling time, which was increased due to traffic congestion. It will also normalise the flow of traffic on link roads. According to a traffic police spokesperson, the reconstruction of Marrir Chowk was ordered by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal. This project will ensure that traffic on Murree Road from Saddar to Faizabad stays uninterrupted.
The traffic engineers had made U-turns at Liaquat Bagh as part of this project. Traffic signals are installed at 40 seconds for traffic heading from Marrir Chowk towards Rashid Minhas Road and Saddar. After the remodelling, the traffic from Flashman Chowk and Kamran Market would be signal-free. There will also be no traffic delays on the way to Kutchery Road from Rashid Minhas Road or Saddar Kamran Market. The greenbelts on Marrir Chowk will also be demolished and replaced for the road expansion.
The construction of signal-free Murree Road would enhance traffic flow on all connecting roads like as Liaquat Road, Committee Chowk, Waris Khan Road, Gawalmandi Road, City Saddar Road, Kohati Bazar, Commercial Market, Asghar Mall Road, Fifth Road, and Sixth Road.
