Rawalpindi: The Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Thursday sought building plans and other documents form owners of plazas situated on Murree Road – a news source reported.
RMC asked the owners to submit documents regarding ownership, rent, and building plans. The civic body will issue a clearance certificate after completing the verification process.
Last month, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) conducted a survey of illegal plazas and buildings in the garrison city. ACE carried out its survey on the instructions of the Punjab government.
The government previously announced its decision to regularise all structures and establishments in Rawalpindi. The authorities have also razed a number of encroachments.
The teams surveyed plazas and buildings where parking spaces had been converted into shops. Civic bodies such as RDA and RMC will now also collect fees for approving building plans.
