Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Hamza Shehbaz held a meeting to review the progress of Murree Development and Improvement Plan and directed the relevant administration to fix the rent of rooms to provide relief to visitors, according to news published on June 22.

During the meeting, CM Hamza stated that people from across the country will visit Murree during the holidays of Eid-ul-Azha. To avoid any unfortunate incident, the administration was asked to fix rent for hotel rooms and provide best facilities. He also asked the administration to start a motorbike ambulance service and the ‘Dilkash Murree’ project. Further, he directed relevant officials to formulate a fire safety plan to prevent fire incidents in Murree.

Moreover, the chief minister stated that the capacity of the tourism police should be increased and given professional training for handling emergencies in collaboration with Rescue 1122. He went on to say that the traffic coming to Murree should be monitored through cameras. Additionally, a rainwater-harvesting system must be developed in the villages of Murree. During the meeting, the CM was informed that the construction and restoration of the 34-kilometre road has been completed.
