Islamabad: Murree Brewery has donated PKR 2.1 million for the fund set up and managed by Supreme Court of Pakistan to construct Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams, a news source reported. The check was presented by Murree Brewery Chief Executive Officer Asphanyar Bhandara.
According to a spokesperson of Supreme Court, Bhandara met with Chief Justice of Pakistan and offered the check. While the news source claim that the fund has received a sum of PKR 860 million, as per the last updates shared on August 14.
Construction of Diamer-Bhasha dam is estimated to cost PKR 1,450 billion while that of Mohmand Dam is estimated at PKR 300 billion. For Diamer-Bhasha Dam, the initial expense to construct the reservoir is expected to be PKR 650 billion.
