LAHORE: The Multan Road project is of vital importance and should be completed by the first week of July, so that better transport facilities could be made available to the masses, Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, said on Sunday.
He said that construction of the Shadbagh underpass at the Lahore Ring Road would provide relief to the commuters. He said this while reviewing the pace of work at the Multan Road, at the inauguration of the Shadbagh underpass and also at the foundation-stone laying of Daroghawala Mehmood Booti Link Road.
The chief minister said that the Punjab government was utilising all available resources for the welfare of masses and special attention was being paid to the development of infrastructure in the province.
He said that modern infrastructure was of vital importance for the promotion of economic activities and rapid development and completion of uplift projects was leaving a far-reaching impact on the progress of the province. Shahbaz said that the Multan Road project was a difficult one, as there were a large number of encroachments in the way, and other obstacles as well, but all those hurdles had been removed and the project would be completed by the first week of July.
