Multan: Multan division is expected to have 11 municipal committees, 22 town committees, and 13 tehsil committees under the new local government system – a news source reported.

For this purpose, the Deputy Commissioner has sent his recommendations to the Director Local Government. According per the recommendations, the establishment of 11 municipal committees has been sought for various districts; including two for Multan, four for Khanewal, two for Vehari, and three for Lodhran.
The Multan district will include Shujabad, Jalalpur and Peerwala, while the Vehari district would comprise Vehari and Mailsi. Similarly the Khanewal district would consist of Khanewal, Kabeerwala, Mian Channu, and Jahanian. Moreover, the Lodhran district would include Lodhran, Duniyapur and Kahror Pakka.
The complete details of the various committees were made available in the offices of the local councils and union councils on September 26. The citizens will be able to submit their complaints, suggestions, and recommendations between September 28 and October 17 after obtaining the forms from relevant Assistant Commissioner’s office.

On October 18, recommendations will be submitted to the Commissioner’s Office for scrutiny and finalization – expected by October 25. Then the final draft of all the changes will be prepared and made available the at Commissioner’s Office by November 2.
