Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday stated that Multan would soon have a ‘functional’ secretariat, a news source reported. He added that the city would not face any kind of neglect following the administrative re-arrangement of South Punjab.

The foreign minister revealed that the government would implement measures to facilitate the people of South Punjab. He added that the secretariat in Multan would have additional chief secretaries (ACSs), who would attend office three days a week.
Qureshi further stated that the incumbent government had made tangible progress on commitments made in its manifesto pertaining to South Punjab.

Earlier, the Punjab government had allocated funds worth PJR 7.5 billion for development projects in Multan as part of the financial budget 2020-21. According to details, the provincial government plans to spend these funds on around 340 ongoing development projects. Moreover, it has allocated another PKR 220 million for new development projects in the city.
