Karachi: Engro Polymer & Chemicals and WaterAid Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve the Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) sector of Pakistan, a news source reported.

The MoU establishes a long-term collaboration between the two parties for exploring opportunities within the WASH sector to initiate projects. This sector contributes towards water conservation and improvement of hygiene and health of the citizens.
The said MoU also entails the following:
- Creating awareness to address water scarcity issues using innovative techniques and consulting national and international experts
- Promotion and execution of rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge programmes

Further, both organisations will join hands to promote initiatives pertaining to water, sanitation, and hygiene as part of the incumbent government’s ‘Clean & Green Pakistan’ project. Their collaboration will contribute to developing sustainable solutions for water conservation and supply of water for the people of Pakistan.
