Lahore: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has identified seven cities for launching its projects, a news source reported. These are, namely, Kasur, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and Gujranwala.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi made the announcement during a meeting held to review the annual performance of the agency. PSCA Managing Director Malik Ali Amir, Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Akbar Nasir Khan, Chief Administration Office Muhammad Kamran Khan, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nisar Ahmed Cheema were also present at the occasion.

The previous government had ordered for the expansion of the project which it had first introduced in Lahore, and then in six other divisions within the province. The divisions were Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala.
The incumbent government ordered the establishment of PSCA centers in the remaining two divisions, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan, and pledged funds to this effect. The officials concerned also prepared feasibility reports for the two centers.
