Lahore: The Punjab government on Wednesday announced its decision to expand smart lockdown in other neighbourhoods of Lahore in order to control the COVID-19 outbreak, a news source reported. According to details revealed, the provincial government would seal seven additional areas after midnight.

Official sources have revealed that the seven areas undergoing the COVID-19 smart lockdown after 12:00 am include:
- Wapda Town
- EME
- A2 Block, Township
- C Block, Johar Town
- Main Bazaar, Chungi Amar Sadhu
On July 1, the Punjab government had reopened 61 localities in the city. Meanwhile, it had extended the smart lockdown until July 15 across Lahore. The de-sealed areas included blocks in Wapda Town, Johar Town, PCSIR, Canal View Society, DHA phases I, III, and V, Kareem Park, Old Anarkali, AskarI 10, Shadbagh (Gol Bagh), Darogawala, Mohalla Shah Noor, and many other neighbourhoods.

The provincial government has been following the policy of sealing the coronavirus hotspots in the cities in order to control the spread of COVID-19 while resuming several business activities.
