Rawalpindi: The current monsoon soon season and the much-needed down pour received by Islamabad and Rawalpindi the other day has raised the water levels in Rawal Dam, Khanpur Dam and under the ground, reported a news source. The water level in these dams has gone up by four acre-feet.
With a rise in underground water level, water supply from the tubewells installed in Rawalpindi Cant has also improved. This has contributed to a better supply of water to many parts of the city. Prior to the start of monsoon season, Rawalpindi and Islamabad faced severe shortage of water.
With more rains expected in the next few weeks, the situation is expected to improve even further.
