Reportedly, to monitor and manage the impending rainy season, the CDA has also established the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Arif Nawaz as convenor. Furthermore, to minimise urban floods, the committee will use data from the Survey of Pakistan to map nullahs and manage the resources required for effective coordination. The CDA has asked that the DDMA focus on sensitive and critical locations, such as Katchi Abadis, to avoid any loss of human lives.
Furthermore, in order to coordinate flood relief activities, associated departments such as IESCO, food, and livestock are placed on alert with instructions to assure the availability of all essential measures and supplies, as well as human resources.
