Faisalabad: Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the authorities concerned are working to introduce a monitoring system for making improvement in service delivery at the land record centres in the province.

To facilitate this measure, several monitoring teams – set up at the district level – have been tasked with collecting data regarding the workings of these land record centres. Based on these observations, steps will be taken to improve the work mechanism at these centres. This vigilance is geared towards providing relief to the public through the introduction of an efficient land record management information system.

Presiding over a meeting held to discuss measures to improve services provided at the land record centres, Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sardar Saifullah Dogar instructed the staff concerned to complete computerisation of the pending land record data. Taking notice of the involvement of middle men in the mechanism related to property transfer and registration, the DC instructed that the land record centres be kept free of the land mafia.

He also mentioned that the land record management system was introduced to curb patwari culture and help make the process fast, efficient and scam free.
