Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has formulated a new mechanism to check the quality of construction materials used in the development of major infrastructure projects in the city, news sources reported. Under the new proposed quality control (QC) mechanism, three reports pertaining to the construction material quality will be prepared.

As per the details, these reports will be generated at various stages of the project stages, with each report to be submitted to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Department of Anti-corruption, and the Planning and Development (P&D) Board. It was also said that a project sample of building materials would be taken even after the project is complete, and that a comprehensive report on the same would be prepared. Furthermore, in light of the new development, the LDA collected samples and developed three reports for the Shahkam Chowk Flyover, Gulab Devi Underpass and the Sheranwala Flyover projects.

During the initial inspection, it was found that the project’s construction quality meets the established criteria. While the third report will be completed shortly to ensure the consistency of QC work.
