Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General (DG) Syed Mansoor Abbas Rizvi has said that modern traffic control system will be installed in Karachi with the help of the World Bank, a news source reported. The director general was meeting the World Bank delegation headed by Saeed Daad.
The meeting discussed the ‘Karachi Urban Mobility Project’. The project was launched with financial assistance from the World Bank and envisions the installation of pedestrian bridges, motorcycle parkings, and traffic signals around the city.
Thanking the delegation for the World Bank’s help, KDA DG said that the civic agency will continue its efforts to improve traffic situation in the city.
The meeting was also briefed about the Traffic Engineering Bureau on the occasion. The participants were told that the bureau’s responsibilities include parking management and road safety in the metropolis.
