Quetta: The Balochistan government will allocate 16 acres of land in 10 districts of the province for developing model farms, according to Forest & Wildlife Department Secretary Dr Muhammad Saeed Jamali.

The federal government has allocated a sum of PKR 16 billion for this project. Reportedly, it will be completed on a public-private partnership basis. These model farms will comprise facilities such as tube wells and nurseries.
Model farms in eight district of the province will come equipped with solar-powered tube wells. Farms in the remaining two districts will have a nursery and fisheries facility.

The provincial government will procure land from cultivators in these districts on a five-year lease agreement. These farms will be handed over to their original owners after completion of the lease timeframe.
