Gujranwala: Mirza Colony residents protested against alleged land-grabbing attempts by a group on Monday, June 24, 2014 and blocked Eminabad Road.
Protesters claimed that they had been living in the colony since 1970, but now some people were claiming that they owned the land. According to a news source, Mirza Colony was built on Punjab Government land and the City District Government had completed development projects there.
Protesters demanded protection of their rights. However, they dispersed when senior police officers guaranteed
action against the alleged land-grabbers.
