Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Law and Justice has approved the budgetary proposal for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), a news source reported. The Ministry of Law and Justice had presented this proposal for the next financial year, 2019-20.

The meeting chaired by the Member of National Assembly (MNA) Riaz Fatyana was briefed about the budgetary proposals as per assembly rules. The briefing also included details on the budget and progress of the ministry for the current financial year.
The committee gave a unanimous approval for the ministry’s proposal for PSDP. It added recommendations that the ministry should reconsider the proposal for the construction of official accommodations for judges of the Islamabad High Court.

The committee has also directed the ministry to ensure that other officials are not allocated accommodations in the same colony as its land has been specifically allotted for judicial officers. The instructions added that the ministry can allocate residences to judges of the Supreme Court and sessions’ judges of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
