Islamabad: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HR) on Monday (January 17) revealed that the government has launched nine housing initiatives for Pakistanis living across the globe, news sources reported.

As per the details shared by the ministry, the initiatives have been launched to bring valuable remittances to Pakistan and also increase investment in the country’s real estate sector. The ministry also shared the names of these housing projects presently undergoing for the overseas Pakistanis in various cities. These include:
- OPF Housing Scheme, Phase – I, Lahore
- OPF Housing Scheme, Gujrat
- OPF Housing Scheme, Larkana
- OPF Housing Scheme, Peshawar Phase-I, II & III
- OPF Housing Scheme, Chittarpari Mirpur (AJK)
- OPF Housing Scheme Zone V, Islamabad OPF Housing Scheme Phase I (Extension), Lahore

It was said that the OPF Lahore is spread over an area of 2,316 kanals and includes 1,783 residential and 93 commercial plots. The project is located 3 kilometres from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital. Out of the total inventory, 1,735 residential plots have been allocated to overseas Pakistanis, while the remaining 48 residential and 69 commercial properties will be auctioned off soon.
