Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat has directed all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to complete the identification of the Benami properties by September 30, as directed by Prime Minister Imran Khan – a news source reported.

The minister was chairing a meeting of the CM Provincial Committee on Benami Transactions at Civil Secretariat on Thursday.
The strategy to identify Benami properties in the province was discussed at the meeting. The minister instructed the officials to pay special attention to major cities, as more unnamed properties could likely be revealed there.
He also urged the concerned departments to utilise all resources to make this campaign a success. It was also proposed that the help of old patwaris be obtained to identify the benami properties.

The Chief Secretary directed all the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to identify the anonymous properties, as well as to report the obstacles they faced so that they could be removed in a timely manner.
The next meeting will be held on September 17 to assess further progress.
