Lahore: Provincial Minister of Housing Mian Aslam Iqbal on Wednesday (August 17) chaired a meeting to review the ongoing development projects under the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Central Business District Authority (CBDA), news sources reported.

The minister reviewed the ongoing development work of the multibillion-rupee development initiatives. On the occasion, the minister stated that both projects are critical to developing a modern Lahore as they will play a pivotal role in dealing with the country’s growing population, environmental issues, and housing crisis. He assured the authorities that the government will provide every help to both projects for them to be completed on time. Furthermore, he stated that the projects would employ two million people and relocate 4 to 8 million people. The new industrial zone in Ravi city, stretching across 3,500 acres, will mark a brand-new chapter in the country’s development.

It is worth noting that the government announced the RUDA and CBDA in 2020 as contemporary and smart housing alternatives for the country’s second biggest metropolis. The project is the first of its kind that will have smart forests, green roads, and high-end facilities with multi-story buildings.
