Taxila: Punjab Minister for Revenue Malik Mohammad Anwar Khan informed the media regarding the government’s intent to digitise the land transfer system, reported the news sources. He said this at the inaugural ceremony of the land record centre in Mianwali.

Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) Assistant Commissioner Haidar Abbas and officials of the revenue department were also present at the ceremony.
With the help of an automated system, the government aims to facilitate the Revenue Department and farmers to end corruption and improve revenue collection. Mr Khan stated that in the past two years, 20 mobile centres and 115 computerized land record centres have been established. Also, as many as 23 commercial banks have access to digital land records for helping farmers.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Punjab Revenue Department have signed an agreement for the sharing of data. There has been an 80% increase in Revenue department income after the implementation of E-stamping. The provincial minister also mentioned that land-related issues will be resolved after the establishment of a land record centre. Further, he added that the monthly open courts are held to solve land-related problems.
