Faisalabad: Punjab Minister for Industry, Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal on Sunday (September 26) broke ground for the construction of the Faisalabad Expo centre, news sources reported. The expo centre will be completed under the Public-Private Partnership (3P) model.

To this effect, a small launch event was held at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). According to Minister Iqbal, the development of a state of the art exhibition centre will strengthen the local economy, boost the “Made in Faisalabad” brand and attract international direct investment (FDI). According to the minister, the government is fully committed to providing facilities for rapid industrialization and the development of industrial zones such as the M3-Industrial Zone and the Allama Iqbal Industrial Zone Faisalabad.

He also stated his intention to quickly colonise industrial land in near future. The minister also inaugurated an industrial facilitation lounge, which would provide sophisticated business amenities to industrialists. The ceremony was attended by FCCI President Engineer Hafiz Ihtasham Javed, FCCI members, and local traders and entrepreneurs.
