Lahore: Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Local Government Raja Basharat has directed the revenue officials concerned to identify and report benami properties in the province, according to a news source. The officials were instructed to conduct this exercise in their respective jurisdictions with a particular focus on the involvement of patwaris in the identification process.

He delivered these instructions at a meeting on law and order held at the civil secretariat on Thursday. Chief Secretary Yousaf Naeem Khokhar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz, and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.

Khokhar apprised the minister of the efforts to control the prices of commodities in the province, while the IGP gave briefings about the law and order situation. In response, Basharat emphasised on the importance of dealing with benami properties in Punjab and reporting them to the authorities concerned.
