Karachi: Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Saturday visited the work underway on the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and reviewed the machinery mobilized to the construction site, according to news sources.

The project that’s named ‘Karachi Breeze Red Line Project’ is about 29-kilometres long and leads from Model Colony-Malir to the Mazar-e-Quaid and Jinnah Avenue, where it overlaps with the Green Line BRT route at Numaish.
During his visit, the minister was briefed about the project by Trans Karachi – which is executing the development works. Minister Memon instructed the company to work with the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), K-Electric and other utility companies to shift utility lines in a week. He also inspected the site of underpasses, U-turns and flyovers along the route of the BRT.

The transport minister also ordered encroachments to be removed from Safoora Chowrangi with the assistance of the District East administration to ensure that the development work on the bus service isn’t hindered. He also ordered the traffic flow to be kept undisturbed during the development work.
