Murree: The government has announced the provision of gas to far-flung areas of Murree, and would allocate funds to complete the ongoing gas projects – a news source reported.

Minister for Petroleum Omar Ayub expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with MNA Sadaqat Ali Abbasi. Khursheed Abbasi, former town nazim Murree, was also present at the occasion.
The delegation requested the minister to provide gas facility to the remaining rural areas of Murree. They also asked the authorities concerned to sanction the release of funds for the ongoing gas projects in the area.

MNA Abbasi stressed on the need to protect forests from deforestation. He complained that the locals were engaged in aggressively cutting down trees and using them as firewood. He stated that 60% of the rural areas in Murree lack proper gas connections.
