Lahore: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, & Special Initiatives Asad Umar has assured the Karachi Package projects will be completed at the earliest possible time, a news source reported. The Karachi Package includes projects for resolving the civic and mobility issues faced by the citizens.

Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, along with a Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) delegation had called upon a meeting with Umar, during which he expressed the said views.
Umar informed the meeting that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was committed to completing the K-IV water supply project as soon as possible in a bid to streamline water supply to the city. He added that he was in contact with the Sindh government, and was receiving regular updates on the project.

The planning minister also discussed the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project. He assured the meeting’s attendees of resolving all outstanding issues pertaining to the project. The meeting also discussed the Northern Bypass and Railway Freight Corridor projects.
Umar stated that the federal government was taking all measures for expediting the release of its share of funds for these projects. He added that the incumbent government was committed to developing Karachi and Hyderabad, and would make all efforts to achieve this objective.

Umar also discussed the development issues in Hyderabad with the delegation – especially regarding higher education opportunities in the city.
The MQM delegation extended its appreciation to the minister for taking keen interest in the timely completion of development projects for Karachi and Hyderabad.
