Islamabad: The Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar requested the provinces to share their plans for ramping up health facilities, and the requirements involved, according to a news source. He requested these details so that the federal government could help the provinces cope with the COVID-19 situation more efficiently.

He chaired an evening session at the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) to focus on providing optimal services and assistance to hospitals and cities overwhelmed by the pandemic. He reiterated that the government is working on measures to minimise the spread of the virus, including taking strict action against violators.

The NCOC was informed that a survey would be carried out in the country’s hospitals and graveyards to evaluate the latest about COVID-19. It asked the Sindh government to submit its plan of action against COVID-19 and to list the additional support required from the federal government for the purpose.
