Islamabad: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza, during her speech at the 14th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) held in Madrid between December 15 and 16, urged foreign leaders to invest in Pakistan, according to a news source.

She told the attendees, which comprised of Asian and European leaders, that Pakistan is rife with lucrative investment opportunities across a number of sectors. The sectors she mentioned included employment, trade, human resource development, and transfer of technology. Mirza further reiterated that with over 200 million people, and a rich array of resources, Pakistan is a market that offers immense opportunities.
Representatives of over 51 ASEM member states attended this event; titled ‘Asia and Europe -Together for Effective Multilateralism’. Delegates from the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat were also present.

Mirza highlighted the economic development underway in Pakistan; with particular focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the measures being taken to eliminate fraudulent financial practices.
