Multan: The Regional Tax and Land Revenue Department has recovered millions worth in unpaid taxes, according to a news source. On the instructions of Chief Commissioner RTO Multan Zubair Bilal, Additional Commissioner Zahida Sarfraz supervised the Enforcement Squad. This team then looked at accounts of a private college and recovered PKR 1,000,000 from here, as well as from bakeries, cloth and sohan halwa shops, and from the food industry.
Guards from enforcement team have been placed at one of the sohan halwa shops. Tax evasion from these shops is in excess of PKR 20,000,000. One photo lab has evaded PKR 2,000,000, while various other shops have many more millions to pay.
All these shops were repeatedly notified, and in the event of evasion, all their bank accounts have been frozen to recover money.
