Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday laid down the foundation stone for the Mian Chunnu Link Road project, which falls under the auspices of the government’s recently launched Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan (NPMA) programme — a news source reported. As per the publication, CM further took this opportunity to highlight the developmental benefits offered by the NPMA initiative to the local economy.

The CM stated that the initiative would help strengthen the rural economy of the province. With this programme, the government aims to construct thousands of kilometres of roads in the rural areas of Punjab, along with investing billions of rupees in repairing existing roads during the next year.
CM Buzdar revealed that the authorities concerned were already constructing carpeted roads in the rural areas. He added that they would spend PKR 110 million on the construction of a 9-km long road from Pull Rappherwali to 9/R. He expressed his hope that once the project is completed, it will provide the locals with better transport facilities.

The CM further talked about the development plans for district Khanewal. He said that the provincial government would complete 102 development project with funds worth PKR 18 billion. He added that under the Punjab Municipal Services Programme, they would complete development projects costing PKR 430 million within the national and provincial constituencies of the district.
