Lahore: The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) continues to operate its anti-encroachment drive in the city — with the authority, so far, having demolished a number of illegal structures in different parts of the metropolis, a news source reported.

MCL teams headed by the Metropolitan Officer (Regulation) Zubair Ahmed Wattoo conducted the operation in the city. They removed encroachments from Bhatti Chowk, Nisbat Road, Rehman Pura, Green Town, Canal Road, PIA Road, Swami Nagar Road, Multan Road (Multan Chungi), Data Darbar, Sabzi Mandi (Ravi Zone), Jain Mandir, Haq Nawaz Road, Pir Makki, and Ferozepur Road.
An MCL spokesperson stated that the anti-encroachment squad also imposed fines of PKR 16,000 and PKR 13,000 on various shopkeepers. The officials also shifted truckloads of confiscated goods to the MCL yard.

The MCL squad also conducted the operation in Manawan area of the city. The officials sealed three illegal shops in this area. During the ongoing anti-encroachment drive, the officials removed sheds, billboards, grills, hoardings, and makeshift shops along roads.
