Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced that the trial run of metro bus service from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport (IIA) will commence in the first week of April, according to a news story published on Friday (March 11).

CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed stated that the metro buses will be shipped on March 15 from China as third-party inspection of metro buses has been completed. The transportation will take 20 days for these buses to reach Karachi, and from there, they will be brought to Islamabad. He went on to say that the launch of modern and quality travel facilities will take off the traffic burden from the roads and facilitate citizens.

Reportedly, a total of 30 buses will run this route. It was disclosed that the buses have been painted orange because of the Orange Route. According to sources in CDA, some buses will be used for public bus service from the Expressway to Faisal Mosque in order to ease traffic congestion on the expressway. It is pertinent to note that the CDA was planning to launch the bus service on March 23, however, there was a delay and the launch was shifted to next month.
