CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed chaired a review meeting for the metro bus project from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport. He disclosed that 45 buses will be procured, which will run on different routes. He went on to say that the buses will be received by January and will be made operational in the same month.
As per the details shared, it was revealed that a traffic control room – a smart traffic management system – will be created to check violations of traffic rules and overloading by local transports. Also, CDA plans to establish one bus depot worth PKR 800 million at Peshawar Mor for parking of the buses. It was mentioned that the bus depot will contain other facilities like parking bays, service area, control centre and offices, resting area for the drivers, admin block, and maintenance workshop.
During the meeting, the chairman was informed that some of the facilities were missing at bus stations. It was decided that CDA will prepare a separate PC-1 for the missing facilities with the help of experts, which includes command and control systems, security surveillance, vehicular location, bus schedules, and automated fare collection.
