The authority has directed consultants to design the missing facilities to enable the bus service to become operational within the stipulated time. As per the details, the construction of the Command and Control Centre and procurement of buses will be complete within the next four months. It was also informed that the CDA has planned to establish a bus depot worth PKR 800 million at Peshawar Morr, where the buses – that are planned to run on different routes – will be parked in the future. Having one depot for all buses will eliminate the need for investing again in different depots.
Moreover, a traffic control room and smart traffic management system will be introduced to keep an eye on overloading and prevent violations of traffic rules. The authority has also ordered to acquire steel frames and pre-engineered structures to ensure early completion of the control centre and depot.
