Islamabad: Pakistan Meteorological Department has launched its eighth plantation drive in Islamabad, in a bid to counter the effects of climate change, according to a news source. As per the guidelines, around a thousand houses in Islamabad will be planted with different varieties of fruit and flower trees. The project is set to launch in the second week of February and will be initiated by students from different schools, who will go to different houses in every sector.
Around 130 students are expected to be a part of this. It is also expected that there will be an initiation and commencement ceremony. There will be special certificates and shields for the students as well.
