Multan: Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has decided to auction off the properties of its permanent defaulters, a news source quoted MEPCO CEO Engineer Muhammad Akram Chaudhary. Chaudhary gave these directives while holding a meeting via video link with superintending engineers (SEs) in the region.
MEPCO CEO also instructed DG Khan Circle superintending engineers to initiate a crackdown against major culprits of power theft. He also ordered an operation against MEPCO employees found involved in power theft. Sharing details on further actions to be taken against defaulters of electricity bills, Chaudhary asked the officers concerned to terminate electricity connections of the defaulters and remove transformers and related machinery supply electricity to the major defaulters.
In the meanwhile, crackdown against defaulters of electricity bills is underway in the province, where defaulters are being arrested, legally charged and penalised. In addition to that, open courts are being held to listen to public complaints regarding power supply and related matters.
