Speaking to the media, Dr Yasmin Rashid said that five more Mehman Khanas would be established at Lahore General Hospital, Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Mayo Hospital, and Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi. This is in line with the government’s policy to provide shelter to anyone in need of it. For achieving this end, the government has set up temporary shelter homes and is providing cheap homes to the general public with the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
