As per the details shared by the authority, both the projects will be environmentally friendly and signal-free. It was reported that these infrastructure projects will be the only double underpass in the city. Officials informed that the two projects will ease the flow of traffic as the route remains busy due to VVIP movement. It was mentioned that more than 0.1 million vehicles pass through the chowk on a daily basis.
Sharing details on the proposed projects, the RDA disclosed that the underpass will feature computerized LED lights and green areas on both sides. As per the details, the authority plans to plant 25,000 trees around these underpasses. It was also reported that funds for the projects have been allocated in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2021-2022.
