Peshawar: The Capital City Police on Monday stated that it had apprehended over 100 members of various land-grabbing groups during an operation launched few weeks ago against the land mafia operating in the city, according to news sources.

A spokesperson for the Peshawar Police said that cops arrested over 100 people on charges of land grabbing and association with local criminal groups. He revealed that the police had recovered weapons from the accused and lodged official complaints (FIRs).

Superintendent of Police (SP) City Mohammad Shoaib confirmed the reports and said that he had taken action on all such complaints. He said that he had met with the complainants and gave them the assurance to come forward to register FIRs. Moreover, he said that action was also being taken against public display of weapons.
