Hyderabad: In compliance with a recent Sindh High Court (SHC) verdict, the authorities concerned have initiated a major anti-encroachment operation in Latifabad taluka, according to news sources. During the campaign, many unauthorised structures were demolished.
Officials and staff of the civil administration, police, Rangers and Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC)’s anti-encroachment cell personnel launched the drive during which they demolished several concrete houses, shops and other structures illegally built on the city’s Auto Bhan Road.

Latifabad Assistant Commissioner Faraz Siddiqui said that the drive was launched in compliance with the SHC’s verdict announced on petition (CP-980/2016) that sought complete eradication of encroachments from residential and commercial properties. The encroachers were warned repeatedly prior to this operation, to remove their assets.

This operation focused on commercial areas and will move onto residential areas following its completion.
