Faisalabad: The divisional anti-smog committee held a meeting to review departmental performance regarding measures against smog in Faisalabad division, a news source reported. The meeting was presided over by Faisalabad Commissioner Asif Iqbal Chaudhary.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed concrete steps to be taken to control smog in the division. He also warned the staff of the waste management company not to burn waste or face legal action. He also directed that the campaign against smog-emitting vehicles is to be continued and impounded vehicles should not be released. He also directed the Health Department to maintain the quality of incinerators for disposal of medical waste.
He also instructed relevant departments to check boilers of industrial units and said that smog-emitting boilers should not be allowed to operate. Finally, he ordered that closure of brick kilns should be ensured from November 4.
