Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Friday held a meeting with the stakeholders of the Firdous Market Underpass project to receive their feedback and record any objections regarding the initiative, a news source reported. The meeting was held at the LDA Sports Complex in Johar Town.

LDA Chief Engineer Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa and officials representing the Punjab Environment Projection Department hosted the meeting. The officials brief the attendees on project’s feasibility and design. They also vouched to thoroughly consider public feedback on project design.

Addressing the meeting, Randhawa said that the Firdous Market Underpass will be developed keeping the project’s environment aspects in mind. While doing so, public concerns will also be addressed, he said. Furthermore, he revealed that the LDA will acquire 7 Kanals and 13 Marlas of land for constructing the underpass on Ali Zaib Road – connecting Firdous Market with Centre Point in Gulberg, Lahore.

In another development, the LDA prepared PC-1 for three projects, including construction of Finance and Trader Centre and road works in Faisal Town, and installation of fire suppression system in IT Server Room in Scanning Laboratory, Johar Town. The development authority estimates that these projects will be completed at a cost of PKR 50.98 million.
Tenders for these projects will be invited on May 12 and 15.
