Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Wednesday announced the government’s decision to establish a media colony in the proposed Peshawar Model Town, according to news sources.

Moreover, he announced a special grant of PKR 20 million for the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) and a 100% increase in seed money for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Journalist Welfare Endowment Fund. These announcements were made during the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected council members of the PPC.

The CM also issued instructions for the authorities to take necessary steps to amend the law regarding improving the annual grant-in-aid of PPC. He ordered the preparation of a PC-1 for the establishment of a digital studio in the press club. The chief minister assured the journalists that he is aware of the challenges being faced by them and will take necessary steps to resolve these issues.
