Lahore: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is taking necessary measures to widen its tax net and nip the practice of tax evasion in the bud, a news source quoted FBR Chairman Muhammad Jahanzaib Khan. These steps will reduce the tax burden on existing taxpayers.
Khan shared this information during his meeting with Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoon Hashim Jawan to discuss concerns faced by the business community. He assured Jawan that the board will work on increasing investment in the country and remove any reservations the business community and traders might have.
Sharing details on revenue collection from the province, Jawan said that the Government of Punjab is automating the tax collection process in all revenue collection authorities and departments. In this regard, thorough corporation is required from departments operating at the federal level. Jawan deems transparency in taxation process vital for increasing investment in the country.
