Sargodha: In accordance with several initiatives taken by the Punjab government to expand the property tax net, similar measures are in place for Sargodha – according to a news report.

For this purpose, the provincial government has instructed the departments concerned in Sargodha district to identify new rating areas. This instruction is in addition to the orders given to commence with the process of collecting property taxes from commercial buildings, factories and poultry sheds located along the motorways and highways in and around Sargodha.
As per reports, the officials concerned have also launched a survey to identify such properties, since the property tax collection process is scheduled to commence soon.

The move is expected to help the Excise Department collect additional revenue worth several millions of rupees. Out of the total revenue collected, 85% would be distributed among the members of the local bodies.
