Rawalpindi: Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) is busy with the task of desilting Nullah Leh under its Monsoon Plan 2018, reported a news source. The finalised plan involves cleaning of sewerage lines, inspection and deployment of WASA’s machinery to remove rainwater, and the formation of a task force to deal with any emergencies.
According to WASA Managing Director Raja Shaukat Mehmood, cleaning of sewerage line in WASA-managed areas was completed in mid-June, while the desilting of Nullah Leh is in its final stages. Mehmood briefed the members of Federal Flood Commission, which comprises Brigade III and Rescue 1122, and informed them that WASA’s machinery is in fully functional condition.
