Multan: The Multan Development Authority (MDA) has set up one-window cell to facilitate developers seeking approvals for their housing projects and land subdivisions, a news source reported. The formal order in this regard came directly from MDA Director General Agha Mohammad Ali Abbas.

Earlier, the government of Punjab had directed the provincial chief secretary to facilitate real estate developers in order to provide relief to the people who had invested in housing projects and land subdivisions in the city.

The MDA has appointed its Urban Planning Assistant Direct Mohammad Nadeem as the in-charge of the said facility. The real estate developers, builders of housing schemes and owners of land subdivisions can seek guidance by visiting the cell established in the MDA office or by calling on +92-61-920-0105.

Meanwhile, the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department-Multan has decide to attach and seal property of tax defaulters in the city. These are essentially the property owners who have been the permanent defaulters of property tax.

The department recently sent final tax notices to over 3,000 defaulters; in response to which most of them still did not submit their dues by the specified date. As a result, the department announced its decision to take action under the Punjab Land Revenue Act 1967 under which it planned to attach and seal properties of the tax defaulters.
